Southeast Arkansas Jewel Foundation

History

The Southeast Arkansas Jewel Foundation is a nonprofit corporation which is a publicly supported, public benefit, non-profit organization established for charitable and educational purposes; the aformentioned may qualify it for exemption under Paragraph 501(c)(3) of the IRS code of 1954 (as amended) and the Arkansas Nonprofit Corporation Act of 1993.  The initial place of business for the corporation is 1606 Lin Caru Drive, Pine Bluff, Ar 71601. 

Purpose

The purpose for which the Corporation is formed is to improve the quality of life for the residents of the State of Arkansas.  Specific objectives are as follows:

 

  1. to provide education scholarships;

  2. to improve community development, education and literacy;

  3. to create meaningful activities and educational opportunities for inner city children and at-risk youth;

  4. to provide education and training services consistent with charitable educational and economic development purposes that will serve to improve the quality of life and living conditions for Arkansans;

  5. to provide for community economic development opportunities within the target area;

  6. to acquire, lease, own or otherwise control any facilities, assets or entities, that are deemed necessary or useful in the reversal of community deterioration in the target area;

  7. for any and all other lawful purposes which are permissible for a not-for-profit corporation.
